Riebeek Valley Olive Festival – Some Program Info

The Riebeek Valley Olive Festival is upon us and I asked Derick, from Bar Bar Black Sheep in Riebeek Kasteel, to recommend some not to be missed events happening at the festival.

  • KLOOVENBURG WINE & OLIVES: Enjoy an Olive Market Day at Kloovenburg with wine, olives, oils, foods & souvenirs. Learn about Kloovenburg’s olives at their scheduled Olive Tours (from 11am) & Olive tastings
  • HET VLOCK CASTEEL & CAFÉ MERLOT:  ‘Think – Olive Market’ …  Olives in all forms – Fresh Olives, Olive Chutney, Olive Jam, Olive Relish,Olive Trees, Olive Oil, Bottled Olives, Olive Soap and loads more! Biltong , Dukkah , Pomegrantes & Cheeses, Excellent Wines, Fresh Home Baked Bread, Oysters & Sauvignon Blanc. Food Heart Worx in collaboration with Café Merlot will be serving heartwarming dishes, true country style
  • SHORT STREET: Indulge your senses and travel through the heart of an authentic village market. Visit Ancient Spirit & Revive,Bar Bar Black Sheep, Crisp, The Wine Collective & Mullineux while browsing a line up of stalls.
    Listen to live performances by Ambhulu both on Saturday & Sunday.
  • ALLESVERLOREN WINE ESTATE Allesverloren Estate – the oldest wine estate in the Swartland. Remarkable wines, mouthwatering foods, diverse country stalls and live music galore. Musicians will have the crowd on their feet in the Klipdrift tent while La Masseria will serve up delicious Italian country food. Wine lovers are also in for a treat with wine tastings presented by the winemakers of Allesverloren, Tukulu, Theuniskraal, Le Bonheur and Org de Rac on Friday and Saturday, while festival goers roam through stalls with irresistable delicacies.
    Friday & Saturday: 09:00 – 19:00, Sunday 09:00 – 16:00.
    Free Entrance & shuttle service during the festival that will transport visitors between Riebeek-Kasteel & Allesverloren

  2. This are the exact places we visited too. A truly well planned and attended event … LOVED IT! For sure going again next year … WITH LOTS OF CASH!!!!!!!! And then some MORE CASH!
